I got this laptop about 6 months ago and since then it has really shined
in the amount of performance it can pump out. Whilst it says 1.6GHz, it
actually goes up to 2.8GHz under load, making it more powerful than a
lot of desktops around. Additionally to this, the graphics card in this
laptop are incredibly powerful. You don't normally find cards like this
in mobile platforms. The battery life is good, but not great, and the
battery cable is plenty long! It gets hot when under load, but this a
problem across most laptops, but crucially, it doesn't get hot enough to
burn your palms on this beautiful aluminium case!
the touchpad is a little stiff, but you get used to it very quickly.
It's a stylish package, with a HP logo that goes between being a mirror or a light depending on whether your laptop is on.
There are plenty of ports including HDMI and eSATA as well as a card reader.
The processor is a quad core, hyperthreaded (so it behaves like an 8 core) i7 and the graphics are DX11.
Brilliant
laptop, only complaint is that it goes through battery quickly under
load! (but you can slow the system down with power saver mode to stretch
that time)
Good for uni/gaming/multimedia.
