Reviews Dremel 4000-6/50 120-Volt Variable-Speed Rotary Kit

The Dremel 4000 I purchased as part of the 6-50 kit has proven to be an excellent addition to my collection of tools. Some examples of how I have used the Dremel 4000 include: removing a rusty section of exhaust pipe on my wife's car with the flex shaft attachment and a EZ-Lock metal disk, cleaning an aluminum casting with with a wire wheel to repair the compressor for an air-suspension pump, removing plastic with a ball-burr to replace a DC power jack in a laptop with a more readily available one.

I plan on purchasing the 220-01 workstation to use the Dremel as a high rpm drill press for circuit boards. The number and uses of attachments for this tool is pretty amazing.

I also like that the brushes and all of the components can be replaced using hand tools if the need arises.

Lastly, as a machinist for many years, I appreciate the importance of feeds and speeds of a cutting tool in a given material. The Dremel.com website gives easy access to base RPM for a cutting tool in a specific material.

I would strongly suggest purchasing this tool to anyone that is considering it.

This kit comes with more features than I will use. The variety and range of allowable work is great. It will take years for me to have cause to use all the components. From what we use and that of others who have the same tool we have a large collection of bits and parts in storage. A smaller collection of several of the same bits that we use frequently. Hind sight says buy the motor, the flex shaft and a smaller variety of perceived useful bits to determine what works for the work being done then expand.

Reviews DEWALT Bare-Tool DC825B 1/4-Inch 18-Volt Cordless Impact Driver

I already own XRP tools, charger and batteries. Bare tools are a great way to add what you actually need or to replace. The tool is compact, light weight and very well balanced to use. It has great torque for its size, and really puts screws in fast and easy without effort. Should have bought one earlier, I'll never use a drill for driving again. Received exactly what was advertised. I ordered thru Amazon from Bestcutleryandcookware and mysteriously received an email confirmation from Helton & Co. I was a little puzzled about my order, neverless everything was perfect.

I originally bought this driver as part of a kit last year. I never used it until my dad and I added an extension to the barn in last month. The old man brought out his old corded Crafsman drill(read BOAT ANCHOR) to drive the sheet metal screws. I used the DC825B. I was driving the screws so much faster that I finished my side(24'x20') before he was halfway done. I started on his side, but he said it was his and to go away. I offered up my Impact Driver. Holy cow was he impressed (not an easy task). Not only was it lighter, but it drives the screws perfectly. We used it to drive over 500 1-1/2" screws on a single charge with plenty charge left. Sadly I never got to touch the Impact Driver again once my dad got its hands on it. Thus the reason for purchase of the bare tool. We will be building a steel garage in the near future, and I know he will be Bogarting my Impact Driver. Great TOOL! Great Price!

I found this tool is better for driving screws than the cordless drill I used in the past. the battery lasts longer and it is smaller and handier. The only thing I found strange with the purchase was it did not come with a case. My nephew ordered one at the same time and it came with a case. I guess that is kind of hit or miss.
